Chhattisgarh Governor - The First - HE Shri Dinesh Nandan Sahay

Shri Dinesh Nandan Sahay assumed the office of the first Governor of Chhattisgarh State on November 1, 2000, the date on which the State came into being and held this position till 1st June, 2003.
Currently he is Governor of Tripura state.

Started his career as a Lecturer in H. D. Jain college Ara, (Composite Bihar University). Selected to the Indian Police Service (IPS) in the year 1960 as R.R. and allotted to Bihar Cadre. Held various important and sensitive assignments in field and Secretariat in senior positions. Had also a stint in C. B. I.
Retired as a Director General of Police on September 1, 1994.

Entered into public life in January 1995 and joined Samata Party. Was the Senior Vice President of Bihar Pradesh Samata Party and a member of the National Executive of the Samata Party till he assumed the office of the First Governor of Chhattisgarh State on November 1, 2000.
Assumed the Office of the Governor of Tripura on 2nd June, 2003.
