Chhattisgarh Governor The second - HE Lt. Gen. K. M. Seth

Lt. Gen. K.M. Seth,PVSM,AVSM (Retd) the second Governor of Chhattisgarh. He succeded Shri Dinesh Nandan Sahay

On 17 June 2000, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Shri K.M. Seth was appointed as the new Governor of Tripura. Lt. General (Retired) K. M. Seth was sworn in as the Governor of Tripura on 23rd June,2000 at 4 PM in the lawns of the Raj Bhawan in Agartala. The swearing in ceremony was conducted by Shri V. Thulasidas, Chief Secretary and the oath was given by Justice Mr. N. C.Jain of Guwahati High Court.
Chhattisgarh Governor HE Lt Gen K M Seth on May 2, 2004, sworn in as the acting Governor of Madhya Pradesh in addition to his own duties. HE Shri Seth was administered the oath of office by the officiating Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court Rajiv Gupta at a ceremony in Raj Bhawan.
Mr Narasimhan’s predecessor Lt Gen (retd) Krishna Mohan Seth had completed his tenure as Governor in June 2005 but he was asked to continue till the appointment of a new Governor.

details distinguished service of Exceptional Order, Who retired from Army on 31 December 1997.

He was instrumental in bringing peace in UKHRUL District of MANIPUR as Brigade Commander from 1983 to 1986.

He was instrumental in suppressing militancy in Nagaland in 1994-95 and providing the opportunity for current peace talks

with NSCN (IM) as Corps Commander at Dimapur.

He was also responsible for counter insurgency operations in MANIPUR, Southern ASSAM, MIZORAM and TRIPURA.

Before retiring held the appointment of Adjutant General of Indian Army.

Significant contributions were:

(a) As Chairman, Army Group Insurance monitored and provided direction for management and deployment of private funds to the

tune of 3500 crores.
(b) As Chairman, Army Welfare Housing Organisation, planned and provided directional support for development and execution of

integrated Housing Projects in 23 towns including Mumbai,Chennai, Delhi, Bangalore, Calcutta and Secunderabad.
(c) Planning and Budgeting of Pay Allowances of the whole Army (cash flow 8000 crores).
(d) Formulated and piloted the 5-th Pay Commission till the final award.
(e) Responsible for forecasting, selection and enrolment of 2000 officers and 60,000 soldiers every year.
(f) Responsible for the discipline and vigilance against corruption of the entire Army.
(g) Responsible for maintaining cordial labor relations among 3 lakh Defence Civilian employees.
(h) Responsible for morale and welfare measures of the Indian Army.
(i) Human resource development through Army public schools (104 schools) and vocational training Institutes.

11. Distinctions/Honors Awarded Param vishist Seva Received Medal received (with (PVSM) in 1996 for distinguished service of
details) Exceptional order for the overall contributions to the Army and for countering Insurgency in Nagaland, Manipur.

Mizoram and Tripura. Awarded Ati Vishist Seva Medal (AVSM) In 1985 for his singular contribution in combating Insurgency in

Manipur (Ukhrul Dist.) and dedication towards Service.
